Last Friday night, MTV Latin America held Elektric Kulture at Purdy Lounge in Miami Beach. The event featured performances by MTV Staff members as well as musicians from the most prominent bands in the Miami rock scene including Vizeral, Urban Rebel, The Deadly Blank, Barrio Activo, Bajo Tregua, The Nude Cap, Zania Salas, Jose Tillan, DJ Jose de las Casas, DJ JAndres and Frank Zapata. The rock ensemble performed a full set of rock n’ roll staples including music by Guns N’ Roses, the Rolling Stones, the Doors, and more.

The purpose of Elektrik Kulture was to raise awareness of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation and funds to fight and prevent HIV/AIDS. Year after year, MTV Latin America organizes fundraisers to help the cause, and since 2004, the foundation has raised over $338k.

“I feel honored to work in a team where we make events not only to have a good time but also to help a good cause like the Staying Alive Foundation” said Mario Cader-Frech, VP of Public Affairs & Corporate Responsibility of VIMN The Americas.

The event, benefiting the MTV Staying Alive Foundation, was filled with the best music in town, great prizes, delicious drinks and amazing people. Great raffle prizes were given by the event’s official sponsors: Gulf Liquors who provided delicious drinks and Papi Underwear who gave 100 gift bags for the first 100 people who arrived to the party.
