MTC's THE SNOW GEESE with Mary Louise Parker Ends Run Today

Manhattan Theatre Club and MCC Theater's world premiere of Sharr White's THE SNOW GEESE, ends its acclaimed engagement at MTC's Samuel J. FriedmanTheatre (261 West 47th Street) today at 8 PM. As of tonight, the production will have played 25 previews and 60 regular performances.

Directed by Daniel Sullivan, THE SNOW GEESE features Tony and Emmy Award winner Mary-Louise Parker, four-time Tony Award nominee Danny Burstein, Tony Award winnerVictoria Clark, Evan Jonigkeit (Really Really, High), Brian Cross (Broadway debut), Christopher Innvar (The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess), and Jessica Love (Broadway debut).

With World War I raging abroad, newly widowed Elizabeth Gaesling (Mary-Louise Parker) gathers her family for their annual shooting party to mark the opening of hunting season in rural, upstate New York. But Elizabeth is forced to confront a new reality as her carefree eldest son (Evan Jonigkeit) comes to terms with his impending deployment overseas and her younger son (Brian Cross) discovers that the father they all revered left them deeply in debt. Together, the family must let go of the life they've always known.

Tony winner Daniel Sullivan (Rabbit Hole, Proof) directs this stirring new play about a family waking up from their own personal Gilded Age as the world around them changes forever.

THE SNOW GEESE marks the second collaboration between MTC, MCC, and playwright Sharr White. This winter, MTC produced the acclaimed Broadway premiere of White's play The Other Place, which had its world premiere atMCC Theater in 2011.

Parker returns to the Friedman stage where she previously starred in Craig Lucas' Reckless for which she received a 2004 Tony Award nomination. THE SNOW GEESE also reunites Parker with Daniel Sullivan, who directed her inDavid Auburn's Proof, for which both Parker and Sullivan received Tony Awards for their work.

The creative team for THE SNOW GEESE includes: John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Jane Greenwood (costume design), Japhy Weideman (lighting design), Dan Moses Schreier (original music & sound design), Rocco DiSanti(projection design), Tom Watson (hair and wig design), Rick Sordelet (fight director), and Mimi Lieber (dances), andCaparelliotis Casting & Telsey + Company (casting).
