Earlier today banking's Washington Mutual and Broadway's hit musical Movin' Out jointly hosted a live audition for the Washington Mutual's Big Shot Talent Search Contest. The event took place outside the RichardRogersTheatre on
West 45th Street
between Broadway and
8th Avenue
.

On hand to launch the event with a live "dueling pianos' performance were current Movin' Out stars Michael Cavanaugh and Wade Preston and WPLJ radio personality host Race Taylor.

Contestants auditioned for a chance to perform in the two-time Tony Award winning musical by performing a portion of the Billy Joel classic New York State of Mind. The auditions, which were videotaped, will be judged along with other submitted videotaped auditions and 10 finalists will be chosen.

The 10 finalists will compete live at The Big Shot Contest to be held at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Tuesday, November 18, 2003. The winner will win the opportunity to perform New York State of Mind live at a performance of Movin' Out in January 2004, plus a $1,000 free checking account from Washington Mutual.

The Big Shot Talent Search Contest - videotaped auditions will be accepted until October 31, 2003. All video tapes must be accompanied by a completed entry form, available at any NY or NJ Washington Mutual Financial Center.

Movin' Out stars Wade Preston and Michael Cavanaugh Newlywed Wade is celebrating his one month anniversary today and Michael became the proud father of a beautiful baby girl just 18 days ago. Congratulations to them both!

Radio station WPLJ's Race Taylor emceed today's event.

To the delight of all present, the 'Piano Men' Wade Preston and Michael Cavanaugh perform New York State of Mind.

Jayne Deely from Queens, New York who is a freshman at Fordham University.
