THE BOOK OF MORMON creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, recently chatted with GQ magazine about what to expect from the new Broadway musical, which begins previews tonight at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre.

Stone commented on the Mormon culture, "It's so their m.o. to be nice to people. 'We're going to be so nice that you're going to want to be a part of this.' "

When asked about why the show centers on Mormons instead of the more controversial Scientology, Parker responded, "That would be more hateful. It'd be more 'Fuck these people.' This show isn't 'Fuck Mormons.' It really is this fascination."

The duo plans to take a trip to Uganda and will, "go knock on the door of the mission and be like, 'Wuttup!' " says Stone. As for nerves about the response to such a trip, Parker commented, "It's Mormons. It's like the safest thing we can do in Uganda, believe me."
