Moms-in-Film, an organization founded to energize the careers of mothers in film and television by providing community, funding and advocacy, is celebrating its one-year anniversary at The Players on April 18, 2017 at 7pm. The Bi-coastal organization is honoring filmmaker (and mother) MArielle Heller, whose upcoming film CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME stars Melissa McCarthy. Entertainment will include songs from rising Broadway star Kat Cunning and special remarks from Emily Bergl (SHAMELESS, SOUTHLAND, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES), David Paterson (BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA) and Ana Asensio (SXSW jury award winner: MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND).

Moms-in-Film's most outward-facing program - and advocacy tool - is the WEE WAGON: a mobile childcare unit that provided free childcare to parent-filmmakers at SXSW and can be used on film sets as well as at festivals. The BBC covered the project by addressing its potential for gender equality: Is Child Care the Answer to Hollywood's Gender Gap?

Moms-in-Film's regular events in NYC and LA brings parents in entertainment together and features a diverse lineup of guest speakers. Mathilde Dratwa, the organization's founder, says: "All of our events are always free, and children are always welcome. This one is no different," adding that "We want to create opportunities for parents to partake in opportunities to network, to build community, to share challenges and celebrate each other's success, without the financial burden of having to find childcare - and without needing to spend even more hours away from their children."

MOMS-in-FILM ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY & AWARDS CEREMONY @ THE PLAYERS, 16 Gramercy Park South, 6:30 - 8:30pm.
