Film, television, and stage actress Jen Ponton will kick off a new series of performances of the timely comedy show Missed Connections: An Exploration into the Online Postings of Desperate Romantics at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, located inside the West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42nd St at 9th Ave.

Jen Ponton is a charming, effervescent character dumpling, starring as Franny in the upcoming indie comedy, Franny. She is a Muppet enthusiast, Jamba Juice junkie, horror fanatic, and body love activist! This Jersey tomato of a gal has worked on the indie features King Kelly (SXSW) and Jack & Diane (Tribeca Film Festival). On television, she's the recurring character Grinder on Adult Swim's The Heart, She Holler. She's also brazenly studied women's empowerment on Boardwalk Empire, and tearfully recounted an attack on Law & Order: SVU. She's often recognized for her work opposite Kelsey Grammer in the Emmy-nominated episode of 30 Rock "Reaganing".

Guest stars for future performances will be announced shortly. Previous guest stars have included George Salazar, Julia Mattison, Juson Williams and Suellen Vance.

Using real postings from the infamous craigslist section, the group will dive headfirst into dozens of unique characters. With a variety of locations, intentions and grammar, Missed Connections is a show of endless hilarity. Previous performances were staged at The Kraine Theater, The Producers Club, The Magnet Theater and The Brooklyn Lyceum (for the New York Times recognized UglyRhino).

The show is performed by a rotating cast featuring Jennifer Jean Anderson, Ricky Dunlop, Jake McKenna, Lauren Roth and George Salazar. All tickets are $20, with a $15 food/beverage minimum and are available at SmartTix.com or by calling the Laurie Beechman Theater at 212-695-6909.

Co-created by Ricky Dunlop, Jennifer Jean Anderson, Lauren Roth and Jake McKenna.
