The Gallery at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) opens the 2013-14 academic year with an exhibit that shines a spotlight on its talented arts faculty. The "2013 Faculty Art Exhibit" will be on display Tuesday, Sept. 10 to Thursday, Oct. 3, with a reception to be held Thursday, Sept. 12, 5 to 7 p.m. The Gallery is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road

Communication faculty member Dylan Wolfe, Ph.D., is the new director for the Gallery at Mercer. "I am excited to assume this post," he said. "The MCCC Gallery is well known as a beautiful exhibit space that opens its doors for the community to enjoy. It is a rich educational resource for our students - young people exploring their artistic talents, as well as seasoned artists who take classes at Mercer. I look forward to creating exhibitions that will showcase the talents on our campus and in the community."

The faculty show includes works by full-time and adjunct faculty who teach visual arts, advertising design, digital media arts and fashion. Artwork is in a variety of mediums, including photography, painting, fashion, textile and several interactive pieces.

"The incredible range and depth of the works collected for this exhibit demonstrate the strength of the college's faculty as professional artists. What's more, this collection of works provides visitors with a unique snapshot of contemporary art and culture," Wolfe observed.

Among the featured artists are Patrick Auletto of Chesterfield, Allegra Ceci of Ewing, Sandra Davis of Burlington, Beth Dubrow of Ewing, Yevgeniy Fiks, Lucas Kelly, Tina LaPlaca of Princeton, John Monahan of Three Bridges, Paul Mordetsky of Hightstown, Mircea Popescu, Kyle Stevenson of Hamilton, John Sunkiskis, Sarah Sweeney of Highland Park, Michael Welliver and Nancy Zamboni of Mercerville.

Gallery Hours for this show are Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. To check for schedule updates, visit www.mccc.edu/gallery.
