The Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) has announced new performance dates for TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, MATILDA THE MUSICAL. The award-winning production, which was previously announced as being at PPAC January 3 - 8, 2017, will now perform at the Theatre Wednesday, May 17 - Sunday, May 21, 2017.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL's performance schedule is:

Wednesday, May 17 at 7P

Thursday, May 18 at 1P & 7:30P

Friday, May 19 at 7:30P

Saturday, May 20 at 2P & 8P

Sunday, May 21 at 1P & 6:30P

In Providence, MATILDA THE MUSICAL is a part of the 2016/2017 Taco/White Family Foundation Broadway Series.

Tickets to MATILDA THE MUSICAL are available now as part of the 2016/2017 Taco/White Family Foundation Broadway Series subscription package. Box Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 10A to 5P; Saturday, 10A to 2P and two hours prior to all curtain times on performance days.

Summer Box Office Hours, which are Monday through Thursday, 10A to 3P and two hours prior to all curtain times on performance days, begin Monday, June 20 and end Monday, September 5.

Winner of 50 international awards including 4 Tony Awards and a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards including Best Musical, MATILDA THE MUSICAL is based on the beloved novel by best-selling author Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox). It is the story of an extraordinary girl who dreams of a better life. Armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, Matilda dares to take a stand and change her destiny.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL is directed by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage), who helms this production with a book by Tony Award-winning playwright Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Australian comedian, musician and composer Tim Minchin.

The production has sets and costumes by Tony Award winner Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Tony Award winner Hugh Vanstone, and sound by Simon Baker.
