This June, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma will produce one of the greatest musicals of all time, LES MISERABLES. This original production will feature the performances of Chuck Wagner, Danny Rothman, Victoria Huston-Elem, Tommy Cunningham, Julie Johnson, and Dallas Lish, leading a company of over 100 voices. The bold design features a new, four story set designed by Michael Raiford and over 400 costumes designed by Oklahoman Jeffrey Meek. The production runs June 24 through 28 at the Civic Center Music Hall, and is the first of Lyric's four summer shows.

"Like the novel itself, everything about this production will be epic and heartfelt," said LES MISERABLES director and Lyric's artistic director Michael Baron. "I'm especially excited to hear this grand, moving score sung by a company of over 100 voices. Lyric's production of LES MISERABLES will be unlike any that our audiences have seen or heard before."

Chuck Wagner leads the cast as Jean Valjean. His many Broadway credits include Javert in LES MISERABLES, Rapunzel's Prince in INTO THE WOODS, and the Beast in DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Danny Rothman, who is cast as Inspector Javert, has played regional theatres across the country, including a recent run in Goodspeed Musicals' production of AMAZING GRACE. Victoria Huston-Elem, recently seen in the national tour of THE ADDAMS FAMILY, will play Fantine.

The cast also features Lyric favorites Tommy Cunningham and Julie Johnson. Cunningham, recently seen in LYRIC'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL, plays Thenardier, and Johnson, seen in RAGTIME and on the national tour of MEMPHIS THE MUSICAL, plays Madame Thenardier. Dallas Lish, who recently performed in TRIANGLE: A NEW MUSICAL, will play Enjorlas. The 100 plus person company features a fully costumed, carefully selected, choir led by Vince Leseney, who is also cast as the Bishop of Digne.

The spectacular set is designed by Michael Raiford, who previously designed the set for Lyric's production of SPRING AWAKENING. Raiford's work is regularly seen at ZACH Theatre in Austin, Texas. Jeffrey Meek, Lyric's resident costume designer, has worked with Lyric for 15 years and has designed costumes for shows across the nation. Other members of the creative team include lighting design by Helena Kuukka, sound design by Toby Algya, props design by Courtney Strong, and hair design by Cindy Ludwig of Elsen Associates. Music direction is by Edward G. Robinson, choreography will be by Ashley Wells, and Jeffrey Scott Cochran will stage manage.
