The work of the Tony Award-nominated composer/lyricist will be explored and celebrated in The Jeff Blumenkrantz Songbook, which will be presented on Monday, February 13 at 7 PM. Presented by Jim Caruso and TheaterMania.com, the concert will kick off The Spring Season at Birdland (315 W. 44th Street); the series features top Broadway performers and songwriters at the legendary music room.

Joining Blumenkrantz onstage will be Judy Blazer (Titanic, Me and My Girl), Tony Award-winner Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza, Titanic), Rebecca Luker (Nine, The Music Man), Ryan Perry (The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public), and Sally Wilfert (Assassins).

Blumenkrantz began his career as an actor, performing in such Broadway shows as Into the Woods, Threepenny Opera, Damn Yankees, How to Succeed in Business…, and A Class Act. Although he joined the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop in 1987, it wasn't until 2000 when Audra McDonald recorded his song "I Won't Mind" (lyrics by Annie Kessler and Libby Saines) that his songwriting career was launched.

Since then, he received a Best Original Score Tony Award nomination for his songs in Urban Cowboy, and he contributed the Rita Gardner song, "I Think," to last year's Off-Broadway production, The Audience. His one-act pieces, Woman with Pocketbook and Precious Little Jewel, have been performed at several regional theatres, and he has been commissioned to write songs by Carnegie Hall and the Guggenheim's Works and Process program. He is a recipient of the BMI Harrington Award and the Dramatists Guild Jonathan Larsen Memorial Musical Theatre Fellowship; he is a graduate of Northwestern University. The Jeff Blumenkrantz Songbook is available for purchase at www.jeffblumenkrantz.com.

Admission is $25 plus a $10 food/drink minimum. Call 212-581-3080 or visit www.InstantSeats.com/Birdland. A full dinner menu is available at until 1am. Monday concerts are followed by Jim Caruso's Cast Party.
