Multi-platinum and award-winning country quartet LONESTAR has an opportunity to add to their already impressive list of career accolades. Country music fans voted and the results are in...LONESTAR has been nominated for a People's Choice Award, "Favorite Country Group." The honors will be awarded Wednesday, January 18 live on CBS at 9/8c. Guitarist Michael Britt and keyboardist Dean Sams will represent the band in attendance at the awards.

"It's such an honor to be nominated for Favorite Country Group," shares Britt. "We've been at this a long time and we've met a lot of fans and friends over the years and it's just really nice to be part of the People's Choice Awards this year. It's nice to know we have such committed fans and we thank them for our longevity."

Sams adds, "We always knew our fans were the best. Our nomination for the People's Choice Award this year is something we are all very proud of. We've already won whether we get the award or not. A huge thanks to all our fans for making this happen."

Known for merging their country roots with strong melodies and rich vocals, LONESTAR--Richie McDonald (lead vocals), Michael Britt (lead guitar & backing vocals), Keech Rainwater (drums) and Dean Sams (keyboards & backing vocals)--has amassed RIAA-certified sales in excess of ten million album units since their national launch in 1995, and achieved ten #1 country hits including "No News," "Come Crying To Me," and their crossover smash "Amazed" (which was also #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the first record since 1983's "Islands in the Stream" to top both charts). The band's awards include a 1999 ACM Single of The Year for "Amazed" (the song also won the Song of the Year award), and the 2001 CMA Vocal Group of the Year. With over a 100 dates worldwide per year, LONESTAR recently celebrated over 20 years together.

The powerhouse group released their 10th studio album Never Enders in April 2016. The new music received high praise including from NASH Country Weekly's Alanna Conaway who wrote of the title track, "'Never Enders' is an invigorating reminder of the untouchable harmonies that distinguished them from every other band in the late '90s, and even still to this day."
