Lionsgate Pays a Whopping $7 Million For Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart Led AMERICAN ULTRA

Deadline reports today that "Lionsgate is tying up a deal today to pay $7 million to pre-buy U.S. distribution rights to American Ultra, the action comedy that begins shooting in New Orleans in five weeks with Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart starring for Project X director Nima Nourizadeh."

The film will mark the second time that the pair is working together, following Adventureland, which they made 5 years ago, a film by Greg Mottola.

In the film, "Eisenberg will portray a stoner who lives with his girlfriend (Stewart) in a small town. His life takes an unexpected turn when his past comes back to haunt him and he becomes the target of a government operation to wipe him out"

Kristen Stewart is best known for playing Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga and for her prolific work in independent films. She has also starred in films such as Panic Room(2002), Speak (2004), Zathura (2005), The Messengers (2007), Adventureland( 2009), The Runaways (2010), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), On The Road (2012) and Camp X-Ray (2014) . She will star in Clouds of Sils Maria (2014), Still Alice (2015) and Equals (2015).

Jesse Eisenberg made his screen debut with the comedy-drama television seriesGet Real (1999-2002). After his first leading role, in the film Roger Dodger(2002), he appeared in the movies The Emperor's Club (2002), The Squid and the Whale (2005), The Living Wake (2007) and The Education of Charlie Banks(2007).In 2009, he starred in The Comedy drama Adventureland and the horror comedy Zombieland, for which he won critical acclaim. He then played Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg inThe Social Network (2010), for which he received a Golden Globe andAcademy Award nomination in the Best Actor category. He also starred inHoly Rollers (2010), which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2010Sundance Film Festival. Since then, he has voiced the main character, Blu, in the animated film Rio (2011), and starred in The Comedy 30 Minutes or Less(2011) and the caper film Now You See Me (2013). He will once again voice Blu in Rio 2, which is scheduled for a 2014 release. He will reunite with Kristen Stewart in the upcoming action-comedy film American Ultra which filming begins in April 2014. He will additionally portray Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor opposite Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck in the sequel to Man of Steel, which will be released in 2016.
