Lincoln Center Theater's free-to-the-public Platform Series, a forum for public discussion between Lincoln Center Theater artists and interested theatergoers, continues its 12th season with two between-performance talks with the creators of War Horse, on Wednesday, April 6, and Wednesday, April 13, at 5:45pm.

Now in previews, the National Theatre of Great Britain's production of War Horse, presented by Lincoln Center Theater and the National Theatre of Great Britain in association with Bob Boyett, will open on Thursday, April 14 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). War Horse is based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, adapted by Nick Stafford, with Handspring Puppet Company, and directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris.

Platform Series events take place in the early evening in the lobby of the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65th Street). Admission is free and open to all; however, seating in the lobby is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis only, beginning at a half hour before the talk. (Speakers and schedules are subject to change. Call 212-362-7600 to confirm on the day of the event.)

The first Platform will be on Wednesday, April 6, at 5:45 pm with Basil Jones and Adrian Kohler, the founders of South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company and the creators of the puppets at the center of War Horse. Handspring Puppet Company was founded in 1981 in South Africa. Their work has been performed internationally including here in the U.S. at BAM's Next Wave, at the Kennedy Center as well as in Chicago and San Francisco.

On Wednesday, April 13, at 5:45 pm Michael Morpurgo, the author of the novel on which the show is based, will be joined by the play's co-directors MARIANNE EILLIOTT and Tom Morris. Michael Morpurgo is the author of over 100 children's books. A former teacher, he was awarded a MBE (with his wife) for his service to education and an OBE for service to literature. Marianne Elliott is Associate Director at the National Theatre where her other productions include Saint Joan (Olivier Award - Best Revival) and Pillars of the Community (Evening Standard Best Director Award). Her other productions include Much Ado About Nothing for the RSC and The Little Foxes for the Donmar Warehouse. Tom Morris is Artistic Director of Bristol Old Vic and also an Associate Director at the National Theatre where he co-directed Every Good Boy Deserves Favour and developed Coram Boy. His other credits as a director include Oedipus The King, All That Fall and Macbeth with Corin Redgrave.

Lincoln Center Theater's Platform series was introduced in the summer of 1998. Transcripts of the previous talks are available on-line at www.lct.org.
