Alex Vause may spending a bit more time behind bars, after all.

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK creator Jenji Kohan has confirmed to US Weekly that Laura Prepon, who announced last fall that she would be departing the Netflix hit during its upcoming second season, will stick around a little longer than expected.

"Yes, yes, she is coming back," Kohan told the publication. "Not the whole season, but ... you'll see her for most of it."

It was previously believed that Prepon would wrap her character's current storyline within the first episodes before exiting.

Prepon plays 'Alex Vause,' the former international drug-running girlfriend of Taylor Schilling on the series.

With Prepon leaving, BLACK bumped up Taryn Manning, Danielle Brooks, and Uzo Aduba for the second season.

ORANGE IS THE NEXT BLACK returns to Netflix with new episodes this summer.

Produced by Lionsgate Television, the hour-long series starring Taylor Schilling, and based on the popular memoir of the same name by Piper Kerman, debuted its first 13-episode season on Thursday, July 11, 2013. The series also stars Jason Biggs, Prepon, Kate Mulgrew, Michael Harney, Michelle Hurst, Maria Dizzia, and Natasha Lyonne.
