In Lions Get Sick Too, Roary is diagnosed with Stuffeditis - a rare condition that only stuffed animals can get. Being sick with a scary illness can be very hard, and Roary needs to brave as he undergoes surgery and treatment. Instead of being angry and afraid, Roary decides to deal with his illness with "gusto and guts."

And that's exactly what happens in the uplifting book entitled Lions Get Sick Too. It's written by Roary himself with a special tribute to Melissa Hamilton, the only person who could make Roary laugh when he was feeling sad and scared and very much alone.

Roary the stuffed toy lion could be your child, or my child, or any child dealing with a serious, life-threatening illness. Lions Get Sick Too is written in the spirit of hope and healing. It is written in the spirit of a young lion who won't get down, won't give up hope, even during the darkest days of a serious illness. It is a wonderful, symbolic, lovingly illustrated testament to our kids and the battles that so many of them face so bravely.

"Sickness has shown me a brand new insight," Roary says, "that darkness is needed to understand light." Lions Get Sick Too can be that light - get it for that special child you may know who is hoping and praying for that light to shine again.
