The Latino International Theater Festival of New York, Inc. (LITF/NY) announced that the third annual TeatroStageFest will take place June 15-28, 2009, featuring 32 performances, 15 events, and over 50 local and international artists. Programming includes groundbreaking productions from New York and around the world, music and dance, comedy performances, artist panels and workshops, family shows and the celebrated playwriting competition for high school students. Performances are in English or Spanish with English language supertitles.

"I am proud to announce that from June 15-28, 2009, New York City will yet again be the Capital of Teatro!" said Susana Tubert, Executive Producer and Co-Founder of TeatroStageFest. "The third annual TeatroStageFest will start with cutting-edge New York based music, dance, and comedy productions, followed by groundbreaking Ibero-American Theater for all audiences. TeatroStageFest will counter the economic crisis with an exciting and, above all, entertaining line up."

Produced by LITF/NY, a not-for-profit organization that promotes and supports Latino Theater in New York year-round, TeatroStageFest is the most prominent Latino theater festival in the northeastern United States. It is an Official Event of the New York City Latin Media and Entertainment Commission, and counts with the support of Founding Sponsor Time Warner, American Airlines, Bloomberg L.P., NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, New York State Council on the Arts, Con Edison, INAEM, TDF/Tap, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and The Office of the Manhattan Borough President, among other partners.

NYC Deputy Mayor Carol Robles-Roman said: "TeatroStageFest reflects the cultural diversity that gives New York City its vibrancy and character. The City of New York continues to support this vibrant event."
