Lincoln Center announces Lang Lang's "New York Rhapsody," a special one-night only live concert featuring the internationally acclaimed pianist Lang Lang. This exclusive multi-genre concert event-Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 8:00 pm, in the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center-pairs one of the world's greatest virtuosos with a star-studded list of guest artists. The "Lang Lang's New York Rhapsody" event, which benefits Lincoln Center's community engagement initiatives, is produced by Live From Lincoln Center and will be filmed for a national television broadcast on PBS later this year.

Lang Lang's "New York Rhapsody" will be a love letter to the city he considers his adoptive home, set to the music that helped make this city so famous and performed at one of New York's most iconic venues, Lincoln Center. The show will embrace a wide range of musical styles and voices capturing New York's magic, from Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, and Danny Elfman to Lou Reed, Alicia Keys, and Don Henley, including a rare performance of the original 1924 jazz band arrangement of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Joining Lang Lang will be celebrated artists such as Rufus Wainwright, Suzanne Vega, and Jerry Douglas, and rising stars including Grammy-nominated singer Andra Day, genre-bending violinist Lindsey Stirling, and Grammy-winning trumpeter Sean Jones, in addition to a 30-piece orchestra with musical direction by David Lai. Other guests to be announced.

This Lincoln Center event is produced by Live From Lincoln Center, in partnership with Sony Classical and CAMI Music. Lang Lang's record label, Sony Classical, is planning to release a studio album of "New York Rhapsody" later this year. Concert and television production are produced and directed by Emmy Award-winner Andrew C. Wilk, executive producer of Live From Lincoln Center.
