Just because it's time to bundle up doesn't mean it's time to sacrifice style. This season, Lands' End is helping women combat the cold while looking great in looks from the 2013 Winter Outerwear collection.

"At Lands' End, we believe warmth and flattering silhouettes go hand in hand when it comes to women's outerwear. We want women to look and feel their best while braving the elements," said Annie Short, Lands' End women's outerwear merchant. "Our 2013 outerwear collection offers quality pieces at a great value while offering figure-flattering, of-the-moment looks."

According to Short, some of the hottest looks for the cold weather include bursts of color, a bit of shimmer and the look of luxury. Following a few of the outerwear must-haves of the season:

She's Got the Luxe Offered in a variety of fashionable silhouettes, including pea coats, double breasted dress coats, and colorful swing jackets, the Lands' End Luxe Wool Outerwear collection is priced at $200 or less and is sure to be a favorite. The collection offers an array of styles in different lengths from petite to plus. Keep on trend with the bright pops of color of the Luxe Wool Peacoat ($140), which is offered in ten rich shades, including Golden Amber, Brilliant Raspberry and Indonesian Teal.

Warm in Wool For those looking for a versatile coat that can be worn for the morning commute or weekend holiday gatherings, Boiled Wool Walker Coat is made of lightweight boiled wool in a figure-flattering silhouette. This refined, tailored coat is the perfect affordable winter wardrobe investment at $139.

Down Right Colorful This season is all about color, and Lands' End is offering a variety of colors and patterns in the Core Down Collection ranging from bright yellows and greens to bold purples and reds. The new collection features vests and jackets in vibrant colors with 600 fill power down. The Core Down Vest ($49) offers a lighter solution to the winter chill with a temperate rating of WARM: +5 degreesto +25 degreesFahrenheit. The vest is available in an array of brightly colored solids, polka dots, and plaid patterns and is the perfect holiday gift.

Shimmer and Shine Women looking for a bit of shimmer in a figure-flattering silhouette will love the Shimmer Down Coat ($179), with front and back darting to complement a feminine figure, removable hood with fashionable faux-fur trim, and a water-resistant finish to repel ice or snow. The fabric's slight sheen adds dimension to the rich colors. But unlike some outerwear that's all about looks, this parka combines style and substance. It is made with extra-warm 600 fill power down and a water-resistant shell that fends off the elements.

Warmth Without the Weight To fight off the cold without adding bulk, the Featherlight Collection features a coat and jacket with elastic cuffs, high collars, and a waterproof nylon shell to protect from the elements. The warm, lightweight 650 fill power down insulation means less down is used for all-around warmth without excess weight. Layered with a Luxe Wool coat, Short says a Featherlight Jacket will give women a modern "high-tech/low-tech" combination that is popular this season.

Whether it's a dressed-up coat for holiday parties, a down vest for exploring the great outdoors or a warm jacket for day-to-day, the Lands' End line has the perfect selection to keep women warm and stylish when the temperature dips.
