Engine is a highly charged theatrical event about family, friends and cars - of fixing what's broken and celebrating life.

Bob Baines (Home and Away) and Melanie Zanetti (The Little Dog Laughed) join a host of young performers from three Brisbane high schools in this compelling production. It's a month after Stevie's car crash and 'Grumpop' has lost a grandson and Natasha has lost a brother. What really happened that night? Natasha wants to remember Stevie by finishing the project car he was working on before the crash. Grumpop is a retired mechanic and he could help but he just wants to put it all behind him... It's a funny and moving roller-coaster ride that will break your heart and mend it.

"Engine is a stroke of genius." says Artshub. Janis Balodis and Julian Louis "have created yet another masterpiece of theatre and the cast of two have left an indelible imprint on my psyche..."

Supported by RACQ. With Bob Baines, Melanie Zanetti and featuring student actors from Brisbane State High School, St Laurence's College and Clairvaux Mackillop College.

Engine opens August 26th at the Rondhouse Theatre (Musk Ave, Kelvin Grove Urban Village). Show times are Tues & Wed 6.30pm, Thurs-Sat 7.30pm, matinees at 2pm Sat 28 Aug & selected 11am mid-week shows. Engine will run from August 26 to September 11.
