Patio season is finally here, so why not spend lunchtime on the biggest patio in the city at YONGE-DUNDAS SQUARE! "A triumph of urbanism," declared the Toronto Star.

YONGE-DUNDAS SQUARE (YDS) is launching their second decade with two Lunchtime Live! sessions from May 26-June 16, 2014 and September 8-29, 2014. Lunchtime Live! will feature adult contemporary and singer-songwriter artists performing from 12:30-1:30pm every Monday.

Kicking off Lunchtime Live! on May 26 is none other than Juno-nominated, Alysha Brilla. The critically acclaimed Tanzanian-Canadian was quickly recognized by television shows Degrassi: The Next Generation, Seed, and King where her music has been featured. On June 2, Chloe Charles will take the stage with her fierce voice and guitar skills that left CBC's Jian Ghomeshi predicting that Charles is "going to be one of those people we get to know in the coming years!" On June 9, Sweet Alibi will show audiences why Tom Power of CBC Radio 2 said, "If Mumford and Sons and the Supremes had a love child it would be named Sweet Alibi." Wrapping up the first half of Lunchtime Live! on June 16 is Toronto's own Jane's Party. Their music has been described as "infectious tunes [that] really make you yearn for summer; sitting on stoops, riding bikes and drinking Sangria on the beach," by Sticky Magazine.

Lunchtime Live! will return September 8 - September 29 at YDS with the one-two punch of The Heavyweights Brass Band, a bilingual folk cabaret with Melanie Brulée, the alluring voice of Patrick Brealey, and three generations of musicians in The Sinners Choir.

Also taking place this summer at YDS, MINI Canada presents City Cinema: CULT CLASSICS, free outdoor screenings of classic films; and Virgin Mobile presents INDIE FRIDAYS, free concerts every Friday night. Full schedules will be announced shortly.

And for those on the search for some respite from the hectic pace of life, YDS also transforms into a quiet oasis on scheduled fountain days. And there is always free WIFI for Canadian Virgin Mobile members. Simply select WIFI@YDS and enter your phone number to hop online.

Admission is FREE to all these events at YONGE-DUNDAS SQUARE.
