"Love is the main theme of the book," says author Devadas T. Chelvam when asked to describe his new work, "Living with Saints and Sages" (published by Balboa Press).

"The book can inspire people to cultivate faith in their true self. It narrates the lives of extraordinarily great men and women who are full of faith, peace, joy and love."

In "Living with Saints and Sages" Chelvam presents an inspiring group of spiritual masters from various parts of the world and derived from various religions. At the heart of each featured master and accompanying vignette is a whole-hearted commitment to realize the true meaning of life.

"Clarifying the common confusions concerning religion, the book provides the reader with the clear concepts conducive to steady progress in the art of living," writes Chelvam, who holds degrees in theology and sociology.

From the Foreword to the book:

"The joy and love that pervades these individual narratives seem so natural and immediate that we can't help feeling that this is how our Creator would wish to deal with each and every one of us. ..To read this book is to sense that God is offering us a 'Romance with the Infinite'.'"

- Dr. Quincy Howe, Professor of Classics and Religion

Chelvam sees a growing audience for his book. "Modern man seems to be more insecure, fearful and selfish in spite of the great progress in science and technology," he shares. "The world can be easily destroyed, unless the minds and hearts of people are changed radically. This book can be significant in pointing the people towards such a change."
