Love Never Dies' Ramin Karimloo has been in hospital for surgery after being taken ill.

It was initially thought that he had a flu-like virus, causing him to miss shows over the weekend, but the actor posted this morning on Facebook:

"It's not flu as first was suspected. Blood tests showed a problem and I was rushed for Key Hole surgery last night. Did not see that coming at all. All is and will be fine and I'm determined to be back asap."

The show will go on, however, with Karimloo's understudy, Tam Mutu, playing the role of Mr Y in his absence. No additional details have been released at this time; we will be bring you the latest updates if and when we get them.

LOVE NEVER DIES, starring Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo, and featuring direction by Jack O'Brien is currently playing the Aldelphi Theatre in the West End.  A Broadway transfer is expected in the 2010 - 2011 season.

LOVE NEVER DIES continues the story of 'The Phantom', who has moved from his lair in the Paris Opera House to haunt the fairgrounds of Coney Island, far across the Atlantic. Set 10 years after the mysterious disappearance of 'The Phantom' from Paris, this show is a rollercoaster ride of obsession and intrigue...in which music and memory can play cruel tricks...and 'The Phantom' sets out to prove that, indeed, LOVE NEVER DIES.

Performances of LOVE NEVER DIES in London at the Adelphi Theatre will be Mondays - Saturdays at 7.30pm, with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm. Tickets, priced from £25.00 - £67.50 (to include 75p theatre restoration levy and inclusive of booking fees), are available from the Adelphi Theatre Box Office on 0844 412 4651 or online from www.loveneverdies.com.
