The new season presented by the Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College includes Michael Feinstein, Bill Cosby, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the Vienna Boys Choir, Donnie McClurkin in concert, Peking Acrobats and a World Music Weekend featuring Inti-Illimani and Escalandrum.

World Music Weekend: Oct. 6-7, 2012
Inti-Illimani 45th Anniversary Tour- Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 8:00 pm

Inti-Illimani known as the musical ambassadors of South America begin their North American tour. For one mesmerizing night and exclusive New York City performance, audiences will be exhilarated with a fusion of Andean folk tunes, Argentinean tangos, Brazilian sambas, and Mexican love songs. Sometimes slow and heartbreaking, other times driving and heart pounding, the "Intis" masterfully incorporate nearly 30 different instruments throughout the evening. Sure to satisfy fans and win over new ones! Part of the Center's World Music Weekend.

This 45th anniversary Time Machine Tour is made possible through Southern Exposure: Performing Arts of Latin America, a program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation.

Tickets are $35 and include a free welcome reception or $55 for the World Music Weekend pass. LeFrak Concert Hall.

Piazzolla Plays Piazzolla by Escalandrum - Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 3:00 pm
The Kupferberg Center for the Arts partners with TeatroStageFest, the Latino International Theater Festival of New York, to co-present this historic tribute concert to the great Astor Piazzolla, Argentina's most acclaimed composer and internationally renowned creator of the Nuevo Tango (New Tango). The Jazz sextet Escalandrum, led by Piazzola's grandson Daniel on drums, will perform its critically acclaimed albumPiazzolla Plays Piazzolla, infusing Astor's classic compositions with the band's original and contemporary Jazz sound. Part of World Music Weekend.

Escalandrum is presented in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires and is made possible by the support of American Airlines, Official Airline of TeatroStageFest. .

Tickets are $35 or $55 for the World Music Weekend Pass. LeFrak Concert Hall..

Vienna Boys Choir - Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 7:30 pm
Celebrate the Holiday Season with the Vienna Boys Choir! The rich musical experience of the Vienna Boys Choir is a fusion of extraordinary talent, singular training, and master artistic direction. Their repertoire includes everything from medieval to contemporary and experimental music, providing a varied evening of styles to enthrall every member of the family and audience.
