Kumu Kahua Theatre Holds Workshop to Prep for 6/20-21 JOKER Auditions

Open auditions will be held to cast the 45th season opening show Joker, by Yilong Liu. The show will be directed by Wil Kahele and runs August 27 - September 27, 2015.

Joe's normal simple life unravels as a promise kept is threatened by a visit of a man from his past. Love, secrets and betrayal abound in this realistic look into lives touched by fear of exposing one man's love for another.

There will be a free audition workshop held from 2:00-4:00 pm, today, June 13, 2015, also at Kumu Kahua Theatre. This workshop is an opportunity for all interested to work with the script and director, and learn the best way to prepare for this audition.

Auditions are slated for: Noon -3:00 pm, Saturday, June 20, 2015 AND 10:00 am-12:00 noon Sunday, June 21, 2015.

Characters:

JOE: Filipino immigrant, 40's

LIN: Joe's wife, owner of a Chinese restaurant, Chinese American, early 40's

RAY: Lin's son, Joe's step-son, Chinese American, 18

FRANK: A journalist, Filipino male, late 40's

Printed scripts are available for loan with a $10 cash deposit at the Kumu Kahua Theatre office weekdays between 11am and 3pm -- call 536-4222 before coming to the theatre.
