Prospect Theater Company (Melissa Huber, Managing Director / Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director) is pleased to announce casting for its final 2016 IGNITE Series event on Friday, December 16th at 8pm at the TimesCenter (242 West 41st Street). The evening will feature a a special concert presentation of the musical Striking 12, with book, music, and lyrics by Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheinkin and Val Vigoda.

It's New Year's Eve. Oppressed by cheer, an overworked New Yorker vows to spend the night alone in his apartment... when an unexpected visitor arrives, bringing light into his world.
Inspired, in part, by Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Match Girl," this urban fairy-tale springs to life through an eclectic mix of pop, rock, jazz, and more.

The evening will feature Krystina Alabado (Lazarus, American Idiot), Ashley Park (The King and I, Mamma Mia), and Zachary Prince (Honeymoon in Vegas, Jersey Boys). Also included in the company of actors and actor-musicians are: Troy Burton (Public Works 12th Night), Brittany Campbell (For the Last Time), Sarah Elizabeth Haines (Todd Almond's Iow@ at Playwrights Horizons), Allison Kelly, Jared Loftin (Gigantic), Ben Moss (Arlington at the Vineyard Theatre), Adam Wolfe, and more to be announced. The concert will be directed by Cara Reichel, with music direction by Ben Moss.

Striking 12 premiered Off-Broadway in 2006, subsequent to numerous performances around the country by Milburn and Vigoda's band, GrooveLily. The New York Times declared Striking 12 "Thoroughly winning... a first-rate score... more artfully crafted and engaging than virtually all the standard-mold musicals coming our way these days." Prospect previously produced Milburn and Vigoda's Long Story Short in 2015 at 59E59 Theaters.

Striking 12 is presented by special arrangement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide.

Launched in 2015, the IGNITE Series is an ongoing concert initiative at The TimesCenter. Reflecting Prospect's dedication to fostering and producing work by emerging artists, IGNITE Series programming includes premieres of original material by award-winning songwriters; cutting-edge creations straight from Prospect's annual Musical Theater Lab; concert presentations of new musicals, and more. Single tickets are $25, $35 and $45, and may be obtained through online purchase at www.ProspectTheater.org or by calling 212-352-3101. Tickets may also be purchased at the door, beginning at 7pm on the night of the concert.

The TimesCenter (www.TheTimesCenter.com) is located at 242 West 41st Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues, in the heart of NYC's Times Square District. The venue features a 378-seat auditorium with state-of-the-art lighting, sound, and video capability, and a Steinway Concert Grand Piano.
