92Y announces the lineup for Lyrics & Lyricists 2016, the 46th season of the country's preeminent American Songbook series.

Artistic directors this season are: Kathleen Marshall, on songs written on the road that became Broadway hits; Billy Stritch, on Cy Coleman's jazz side; Ted Sperling, on legendary leading lady Ethel Merman; and the team of Ted Chapin and Bill Rudman, on Rodgers after Hammerstein. James Naughton, a favorite L&L performer, makes his artistic director debut in a show exploring the time when the American Songbook, country and rock 'n' roll vied for control of the radio.

"We love shaking up the idea of what an American Songbook show is," says L&L series artistic director Deborah Grace Winer. "And the fun and excitement of next season is not only our stellar lineup of guest artistic directors, but that every show they create will be entirely different from the others."

L&L shows are Saturday at 8 pm, Sunday at 2 and 7 pm, and Monday at 2 and 7:30 pm. Subscriptions to the five-concert series running from January to May are on sale now, starting at $290. Individual tickets start at $58 and are on sale August 3; 92Y's 35 & Under program also offers access to steeply discounted tickets for all performances. Please call 212-415-5500 or go to www.92Y.org/Lyrics for more information.
