The Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center (KVPAC) Board of Trustees hosted their annual fundraiser this year at the beautiful Agave Road located at 1016 FM 1463 in Katy on Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 6:30-10:00pm. The event was a Masquerade Mixer entitled An Evening in Monte Carlo, benefiting all KVPAC Programs. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, KVPAC annually serves more than 24,000 children, youth and adults through its tuition-based classes, community outreach programs and free ARTS for ALL! Events. Board Benefit Sponsors for this year's Masquerade Mixer were Two Forks Catering, Houston Slot Machines, Firethorne, the Jerry & Teresa Kennedy Family, College Nannies & Tutors of Katy, Katy Christian Ministries, Patti Lacy Realtor Coldwell Banker, LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch and Encore Print Store.

At the mixer, delicious gourmet food was provided by Two Forks Catering, the successful catering arm of Hasta La Pasta. A delectable chocolate fountain flowed all night courtesy of Chocolate Fountain Express, and the National Charity League donated mouth-watering brownies for dessert. AmericaStar provided the event's music as the lively crowd hit the dance floor in their best masquerade-clad attire. A puppet character by Puppet Pizzazz, strolling magic by Bob the Magician and a special preview of KVPAC's Encore Players fall production of WORKING, The Musical by Stephen Schwartz were also performed. The highlight of the night was the fun time had by all at Roulette, Craps, Blackjack and Slots! The Monte Carlo-esque theme held true to its promise of exciting moments and high roller cheers. The evening rounded out with an array of silent auction items that all in total earned KVPAC over $15,000 from this one event.

"The 2010 Masquerade was a fun and exciting evening," said Patti Lacy, KVPAC Board President. "I would like to thank all the wonderful people at KVPAC as well as my fabulous committee for their help with the Masquerade this year. Their hard work and dedication made the night a huge success. It was our biggest fundraiser to date for KVPAC."
KVPAC's Board of Trustees is all volunteers and local Katy residents. Board Members are Patti Lacy of Coldwell Banker, Donna Wheaton, Clyde Miller of BP, and Sandy Faucet of Katy Christian Ministries.

"The staff truly appreciates the time we get to spend with our KVPAC family of supporters in a social setting," explains Gregory Magyar, KVPAC's Executive Artistic Director. "This annual event has really become a chance for us to connect to the arts community and share our enthusiasm for what we do."

LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch Marketing & PR Director, Terri Norman and her staff were all honored by the Board at this event with the Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center's annual 'Art of Katy Award'. This award is presented each year to a major KVPAC advocate who has gone above and beyond their commitment to community service through KVPAC.

Dedicated KVPAC parents Katrina Rogers and Julie Breath were both this year's 'Volunteer of the Year' recipients.

"We are looking forward to a great year at KVPAC and we are also looking forward to our Spring Swing Golf Tournament on April 15, 2011." Mrs. Lacy said, referring to KVPAC's next fund raising event in the spring. "If you missed the Masquerade this year... we will see you on September 15, 2011 for our 3rd Annual KVPAC Masquerade-- A Night in Rio !!"
