DAMN YANKEES
July 8, 2010 - August 29, 2010

Book by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop
Words and Music by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross
Winner of 7 Tony Awards Including Best Musical

DAMN YANKEES is set in Washington, D.C. during the 1950's - a time when the New York Yankees dominated baseball. When Joe Boyd, a middle-aged, die-hard Washington Senators fan, suffers another frustrating loss to the Yankees, he states he would "sell his soul for one long ball hitter." Suddenly, a mysterious stranger appears who offers to make Joe's wish come true - in fact, Joe himself will be the player to lead the Senators over the hated Yankees. The price, however, is Joe's eternal soul. Joe accepts the offer, and is transformed into the young, strong slugger Joe Hardy. His astonishing success leads the Senators to a showdown with the Yankees on the final day of the season. However, as Joe reflects on the life he left behind, he begins to wonder if he made a mistake - and how he can return to his old life. With songs such as Heart, Whatever Lola Wants, and Shoeless Joe From Hannibal, MO, DAMN YANKEES is the perfect musical comedy both the theater and sports enthusiast will love!

MY FAIR LADY
September 16, 2010 - October 30, 2010

Book and Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner
Music by Frederick Loewe
Winner of 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical

This musical interpretation of George Bernard Shaw's classic Pygmalion revolves around the uneducated Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl with a dreadful English accent. Eliza becomes the center of a bet between the worldly linguist, Colonel Pickering, and the self-absorbed phoenticist, Mr. Henry Higgins. Pickering wagers that Higgins cannot make good on a claim to teach Eliza to speak and act like a proper lady. With that, an intensive make over of Eliza's speech, manners, and dress begins in preparation for a final test in which she is required to pass as a lady at the Embassy Ball. It is an unlikely love story featuring such classic songs as Wouldn't It Be Loverly, I Could Have Danced All Night, The Rain In Spain, and On The Street Where You Live.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC
November 18, 2010 - January 9, 2011

Book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse
Music by Richard Rodgers
Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II
Winner of 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical

This classic favorite is based on the true memoirs of Maria von Trapp's book The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. It centers around a young nun, Maria, who is sent to be the governess to an Austrian family of seven children and their widowed father, a naval Captain, on the eve of World War II. Maria brings love and attention to the motherless children, and shares with them her love of music. Her growing rapport with the children, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain. THE SOUND OF MUSIC features one of the most family-friendly and popular scores in Broadway history. With songs such as My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, So Long, Farewell, and Climb Ev'ry Mountain, it is the perfect show to share with the entire family during the holiday season.

CABARET
February 3, 2011 - March 27, 2011

Book by Joe Masteroff
Music by John Kander
Lyrics by Fred Ebb
Winner of 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical

Set in 1931 Berlin, CARABET takes place in and around the seedy Kit Kat Klub, one of the many cabarets that populated Berlin at the time. Clifford Bradshaw, a young, American writer, comes to the city in the hopes of finding inspiration for his new novel. It is at the Kit Kat Klub that he finds his inspiration - Sally Bowles, a young, English cabaret performer. They fall in love and begin to enjoy their life together. Their joy is short-lived, however, as the growing influence of the Nazi party begins to infect every aspect of life in Berlin. The hardships the people of Berlin are forced to endure, and the declining state of the city, are commented upon by the ever-present Emcee and the cabaret girls at the Kit Kat Klub. Meanwhile, Cliff and Sally struggle to keep their relationship alive under these difficult circumstances. Both powerful and thought-provoking, CABARET boasts an impressive list of songs such as Willkommen, Two Ladies, The Money Song, and the title song Cabaret.

GUYS AND DOLLS
April 14, 2011 - June 5, 2011

Book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows
Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser
Winner of 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy - considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy - soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters. Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiance, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game; Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evildoers of Time Square; and Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love. The score, made famous by many popular singers, features Luck Be A Lady, If I Were A Bell, Adelaide's Lament, A Bushel and a Peck, and Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat.
