The production is directed by Grant Neale, founding Artistic Director of Nomad, with original music and soundscape composed by Yolanda Segovia.

In a funny, compelling and poignant true story, Residual Effects recounts the tale of an actor, who faces a crossroads in his career. After a ten year wait for placement at Manhattan Plaza, New York City's most famous performing arts affordable housing project, John gets :the call" and moves into a newly renovated apartment. What follows is a series of fortunate events that lead to a connection between an actor examining the future of his career and a one hundred year old actress and previous tenant of the same apartment, Leila Danette. Ultimately this intersection has far-reaching repercussions, both personal and financial. This unexpected journey reveals the mystery of a life well-lived and how residual effects can impact a life in progress.

Residual Effects is based on a captivating true story and was originally conceived as a fictional three person play. It later was transformed to its current iteration, as a one man show performed by the playwright himself. Playwright and actor Tillotson noted: "When I started to tell the truth with real events, the play flooded out of me." As for what inspired him to share his unique story as a theatrical piece, the playwright relayed: "I was compelled to write this piece because of my interest in theatrical ephemera...our permanence is fleeting at best in the theatre, but a well-lived life can have a profound effect even in death." Centered around one table, one chair and one actor, the play was written with simplicity in mind to best tell a story that speaks for itself, while weaving a remarkable journey for all who love the ephemeral nature of the theatre.

Residual Effects features John Robert Tillotson, whose acting credits include Broadway's Enemy of the People, for MTC, as well as appearances Off-Broadway at the Pearl Theatre, The Mint, La Mama, The Flea; and in Europe in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in Vienna & Frankfurt, Phantom of the Opera in Paris. As a Playwright his work has been presented by The Attic Theatre (The Face of Heaven) and Nomad Theatrical (Project: Bairbre). Director Grant Neale has appeared as an actor Off-Broadway in The Marriage of Alice B. Toklas by Gertrude Stein and Polanski for HERE; as well as appearances at La Mama and The Mint. He is the founding Artistic Director of Nomad Theatrical Company. Original music and soundscape have been composed for Residual Effects by Yolanda Segovia, musical director/conductor of Broadway's original production of Dreamgirls.

Residual Effects opens for a limited run Monday, August 14, 2017 at 6:15pm, Friday, August 18 at 9pm and Sunday, August 20 at 3:30pm at The Hudson Guild Theatre (441 West 26th Street between 9th and 10 Avenues).
