John Lithgow & Ann-Margaret Win Emmys for Best Guest Actors in Dramas

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, John Lithgow and Ann-Margaret are this year's recipients of the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards for Best Guest Actor and Actress in a Drama, respectively.  Lithgow won the Creative Arts Emmy for his guest stint on Showtime's Dexter, while Ann-Margaret received the honor for her appearance on NBC's Law & Order: SVU. 

Lithgow has appeared on Broadway in All My Sons, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Sweet Smell of Success and over a dozen more. He most recently appeared on stage in Second Stage's Mr. and Mrs. Fitch. On screen, his is best known for his role on 3rd Rock from the Sun.

Ann-Margaret became famous for her starring roles in Bye, Bye Birdie, Viva Las Vegas, The Cincinnati Kid, Carnal Knowledge, and Tommy. Her later career includes character roles in Grumpy Old Men, Any Given Sunday, The Santa Clause 3, and The Break-Up. She has won five Golden Globe Awards and been nominated for two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and six Emmy Awards.

These awards, along with the other Creative Arts Emmy winners were announced on August 21, 2010.The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards is airing live coast to coast tonight, on August 29 (8-11 p.m. EST) on NBC, originating from the Nokia Theatre L.A. in Los Angeles. The awards are being produced by Don Mischer and hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
