Two-time Drama Desk nominee and Long Island native Joe Iconis will offer a free concert in The Green Room at John W. Engeman Theater on Friday, August 20th. No tickets are required for the event, which will begin immediately following that evening's performance of Damn Yankees (now starring Andre De Sheilds, Austin Miller and Jessica Lee Goldyn). Audience members just attending the Iconis concert are encouraged to arrive at the theater no later than 11:00pm.

The concert will feature Damn Yankees cast members and frequent Iconis collaborators Jason "Sweettooth" Williams (Best Actor West Village Musical Theater Festival 2010) and Jeremy Morse (Drama Desk Best Featured Actor nominee 2010), among others.

This is the first ever Long Island concert for rabble-rousing musical theater writer Joe Iconis, whose Joe Iconis ROCK AND ROLL JAMBOREE is currently running at The Laurie Beechman Theater in Manhattan on Monday nights. The concert will be a laid-back, fired-up evening of Iconis tunes, featuring fan favorites and songs from the writers' various musicals. Joe will be joined by many members of his musical family, including Katrina Rose Dideriksen (Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray, Vegas.), MK Lawson (Bloodsong of Love, Ars Nova), and Jared Weiss (The Wedding Singer, Sharon Playhouse.) Joe's debut album will be out on Sh-K-Boom Records this fall.

Joe Iconis is the recipient of the Ed Kleban Award, the Jonathan Larson Award, two Drama Desk nominations, and a 1992 Stratford Elementary School Excellence In Music Certificate. Joe is the author of Bloodsong Of Love: The Rock 'n' Roll Spaghetti Western (Ars Nova), We The People: America Rocks! (TheaterworksUSA). The Black Suits (SPF at the Public), ReWrite (Urban Stages/Goodspeed Festival of New Artists), The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks (Theaterworks USA), and Things To Ruin (The Zipper, Second Stage Theater.)
