Jill Sobule & Julia Sweeney to Bring THE JILL & JULIA SHOW to City Winery Chicago, 7/3

Author and comedian Julia Sweeney (Saturday Night Live) and singer-songwriter Jill Sobule ("I Kissed a Girl") come together for The Jill & Julia Show. Sobule, while best known for the 1995 single "I Kissed a Girl," and "Supermodel" from the Clueless soundtrack, isn't just another singer-songwriter with catchy tunes and smart lyrics; each of her fanciful songs captures an issue or irony, an emotion or epiphany that helps explain what it's like to live now.

Similarly, while Sweeney found fame with her portrayal of "Pat" on Saturday Night Live, her comedic solo performances also tackle deep issues: cancer, family, faith. Her 1998 memoir, God Said, "Ha!" -chronicling her personal experience with cancer, as well as coping with her brother's cancer diagnosis - was turned into a Broadway show. Her new book If It's Not One Thing, It's Your Mother, on parenting and being parented, was just published by Simon & Schuster.
