"Bullygirl", conceived and performed by Jennifer Jasper, is part of Locally Grown -- A festival of homemade performance, produced by Radial Theater.

Storyteller Jennifer Jasper pulls no punches in "Bullygirl" as she delves into the darkness of adolescence to pick at the bones of her self-esteem. Told in her unique voice mixing pathos and hilarity, Jasper spits out tales of bullies, victims in plaid stretch pants, a shunning, and a young teacher's near breakdown as she revisits the halls of horror: Junior High.

Jennifer Jasper has been a fixture of the Northwest theater scene for more than two decades -- she is known for acting, directing, emceeing and most recently playwrighting. As a storyteller and writer, her stories are brutally honest, sometimes poignant, and absolutely hilarious.

In 2014, she was one of six winning playwrights at the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival for her play "et•y•mol•o•gy" which will be published in "Off Off Broadway Festival Plays, 39th Series" in early 2015. She is working on an Off Broadway showcase that will run in New York during the 2015-2016 season.

"Bullygirl" is the third in a series of autobiographical solo shows for Ms. Jasper. Her hit autobiographical show I Can Hear You...But I'm Not Listening was featured most recently at Bumbershoot 2014, Teatro Paraguas in Santa Fe, NM in January 2014 and Theatre Off Jackson's SPF Festival in March of 2013, and was part of the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Festival in June. She premiered her latest solo show It Will Kill Them! at Gay City Arts in February 2014. In 2013 she was awarded a Jack Straw Artist Support Residency.

She co-founded Kings' Elephant Theatre (original long form improvisational pieces and unscripted plays) and Vixen Productions (Pulp Vixens, A Fistful of Lesbians). For more about Jennifer, go to www.JenniferJasperPerforms.com.
