Jason Gotay to Swing into SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK as 'Peter Parker' Alternate in October
Jason Gotay, who recently appeared on Broadway as "Randall" in Bring It On: The Musical, will join the company of SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark as the Peter Parker / Spider-Man Alternate. Gotay will play select performances at the Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street) with a varied week to week performance schedule beginning at the end of October. Matt Wilkas will continue to perform the role of the alternate in the interim.
Jason Gotay made his Broadway debut in Bring it On, another high-flying Broadway musical, as dreamy high schooler "Randall." He most recently appeared Off-Broadway in the rock musical F#%king Up Everything.
Matt Wilkas previously played the role of "Flash Thompson" in SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark. He has also been seen Off-Broadway in Silence! (The Musical) and in numerous television and film roles including, "Ugly Betty," Gayby and Chris Rock's upcoming Finally Famous.
SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy Award-winners Bono and The Edge and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, with direction by Ms. Taymor and additional direction by Philip William McKinley. Scenic Designer George Tsypin and Costume Designer Eiko Ishioka are winners of Outer Critics Circle Awards and were nominated for Tony Awards for their work on SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark.
