Jason Danieley, Carmen Cusack to Lead Chicago Shakespeare Theater's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE

Stephen Sondheim's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE is part of Chicago Shakespeare Theater's upcoming season, and the Chicago Tribune today revealed casting for the fall production.

SUNDAY IN THE PARK will be headlined by Jason Danieley (CURTAINS, NEXT TO NORMAL) and Carmen Cusack (WICKED, CARRIE). 

The production, which runs September 26–November 4, 2012, will be directed by Gary Griffin. Other casting includes Rachel Cantor, Ora Jones, Linda Stephens, McKinley Carter, Derek Hasenstab, Elizabeth LanzaMichael Aaron Lindner, William Travis Taylor and Benjamin Magnuson. Musical direction is by Brad Haak.

Sunday in the Park with George opened Off-Broadway in 1983 with Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters in the lead roles. The show soon transferred to Broadway where it earned 10 Tony Award nominations, a New York Drama Critics Circle Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
