Lynn University and Producer Jan McArt, director of theatre arts program development, are launching the new season of Jan McArt's New Play Readings on Nov. 2. Under the leadership and guidance of McArt, this program develops new plays by highly acclaimed playwrights through staged readings.

The Vivian Vance Story

A new play with music by Eric H. Weinberger

Known the world over as Ethel Mertz, Lucille Ball's sidekick in I Love Lucy, Vivian Vance had a difficult and complicated life-from her humble roots in Kansas to the lofty heights she reached as the most famous "second banana" in television history.

The three remaining shows in this season's New Play Readings series are The Goldberg Variations, a new comedy by Stuart Meltzer, directed by Margaret M. Ledford (Jan. 11); Middletown, a new play by Dan Clancy, directed by Peter Pileski (March 7); and Wave Your Flag!, a new comedy with music by Tony Finstrom, directed by Wayne Rudisill and starring Jan McArt (April 4).
