The search is over! Since the news broke that SONS OF ANARCHY's Charlie Hunnam had exited the FIFTY SHADES OF GREY franchise, Universal and Focus have been hard at work to line up a new 'Christian Grey'. Variety reports that ONCE UPON A TIME's sexy sherriff Jamie Dornan, also known for his role on THE FALL, will now star opposite Dakota Johnson as 'Anastasia Steele' in the film adaptation of EL James' bestselling, steamy book series.

Dornan was among several candidates for the lead role, including Broadway's Billy Magnussen, as well as Theo James, Christian Cooke, and Australian actor Luke Bracey.

THR also recently confirmed that the studios have brought on the Oscar-nominated Patrick Marber to once-over the script, providing rewrites and polishing as needed. The film features an original script by Kelly Marcel, based upon E.L. James' best-seller.

50 SHADES is set to begin filming next month, in anticipation of an August 2014 release.

Dornan, who has modeled for Calvin Klein, Christian Dior and Armani, will next appear on the big screen in Flying Home, and he previously appeared in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette.
