Jamie Barton to sing Role of Adalgisa For Entire Run of NORMA, Thru 9/23

American mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton, previously announced to sing Adalgisa for five of seven performances in San Francisco Opera's current production of Vincenzo Bellini's Norma, will sing the role for the entire run, including performances on September 19 and 23.

Ms. Barton, winner of the 2013 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, is currently making her Company debut as Adalgisa alongside a renowned cast led by soprano Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role, tenor Marco Berti as Pollione, and bass-baritone Christian Van Horn as Oroveso. San Francisco Opera Music Director Nicola Luisotti conducts the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus in a new co-production of Bellini's bel canto masterpiece directed by Kevin Newbury. Norma opened San Francisco Opera's 92nd Season on September 5, with five remaining performances on September 14 (2 p.m.), 19 (7:30 p.m.), 23 (7:30 p.m.), 27 (7:30 p.m.) and 30 (7:30 p.m.).

Tickets for performances of Bellini's Norma are priced from $30 to $370 and may be purchased at sfopera.com or through the San Francisco Opera Box Office [301 Van Ness Avenue (at Grove Street), or by phone at (415) 864-3330]. Standing Room tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on the day of each performance; tickets are $10 each, cash only.
