Jackie Chan Penning Stage Musical of His Memoir I AM JACKIE CHAN?

Jackie Chan told the press he is writing a stage adaptation of his memoir "I Am Jackie Chan: My Life in Action", according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"We are looking for a director for the musical right now," Chan revealed today at a press conference in New York City. "It's all very exciting."

Chan said the musical will focus on his early days with the children's acrobatics group Seven Little Fortunes and his journey to stand out among mega-stars such as Bruce Lee. It will feature his voice as the narrator of his life.

Chan was in New York yesterday and today to receive a lifetime achievement award from the New York Asian Film Festival, which is screening his latest (and 101st) movie CHINESE ZODIAC. The award was bestowed for Chan's 40-year-career in film, during whch he has re-invented how action is filmed, with innovations in editing, choreography, and story-telling influencing filmmakers at home in Hong Kong, and overseas in Hollywood.

Chan has appeared in the Rush Hour films, 1911, the Kung Fu Panda film series, Shaolin, The Karate Kid, The Spy Next Door, The Forbidden Kingdom, The Myth, The Medallion, Shanghai Knights, The Accidental Spy, Shanghai Noon and many, many more. The actor is currently working on a sequel to his first autobiography, which has the working title "I Am Still Jackie Chan".
