IF/THEN Original Broadway Cast Recording, Featuring Idina Menzel, Breaks Top 20 on the Billboard 200
The Original Broadway Cast Recording for If/Then, starring Idina Menzel, is off to a dramatic start at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 chart. This is the highest debut for a cast album since RENT (also featuring Menzel), which peaked at the No. 19 slot in 1996. If/Then has sold 15,000 copies as of June 8, and the numbers are climbing.

Menzel was nominated for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for RENT and again this year for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for IF/THEN. She won the 2004 Tony for originating the role of "Elphaba' in the Broadway blockbuster WICKED.
The actress also lent her vocal talents to the role of 'Elsa' in Disney's mega-hit FROZEN. Her solo song, "Let It Go", hit No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and won an Oscar for composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez; the movie soundtrack sat at No. 1 for several weeks and has sold 2.9 million copies to date.
In IF/THEN, Idina Menzel returns to Broadway for the first time since winning the Tony Award for Wicked in an original Broadway musical which reunites Tom Kitt (music), Brian Yorkey (book and lyrics), and Michael Greif (director), the creative team behind the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical, Next to Normal. If/Then is being produced by David Stone, who produced both Wicked and Next to Normal.
If/Then is an original new musical that follows Elizabeth as she rebuilds her life in New York, a city of infinite possibilities. By the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning creators of Next to Normal, this contemporary musical is set where choice and chance collide. In one moment, Elizabeth will lead parallel lives. This is the story of both.
The company of If/Then features Idina Menzel (Tony Award-winner for Wicked, original cast of Rent, Disney's Frozen), LaChanze (Tony Award-winner for The Color Purple), Anthony Rapp (original cast of Rent), James Snyder (Cry-Baby), Jerry Dixon (tick, tick...Boom!, Once On This Island), Jenn Colella(Chaplin, High Fidelity), Jason Tam (A Chorus Line, Lysistrata Jones), Tamika Lawrence (Matilda), and Jackie Burns (Wicked).
The production also features Joe Cassidy, Miguel Cervantes, Curtis Holbrook, Stephanie Klemons, Tyler McGee,Ryann Redmond, Joe Aaron Reid, Ann Sanders, Marc delaCruz, Charles Hagerty, Janet Krupin and Pearl Sun.
