It was down to wire tonight on American idol. With three rounds, each had its star and America would have the most difficult task of sending one of these ladies home. It was also a chance for the three to visit their hometowns.

The first round consisted of songs of Jimmy Iovine's choice and Kree was up first. She sang Perfect by Pink. It was a good performance but as the judges said, Kree is a country girl and she shines the most when she sings country songs.

The next song was given to Candice. She sang One by U2. As always she did a wonderful job however Jimmy said that she missed a few key moments in the show.

Finishing off the first round was Angie. She sang Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word by Elton John. The judges liked the preformane as did Jimmy but he said that he wished she played the piano.

Round two started with Candice. Before her performance we saw Candice visit her hometown. It was an emotional trip back to South Carolina where she got to see her family for the first time in 4 months. She also went back to get old job.

She sang Next to Me Emilie Sande. This round were songs picked by the judges. It was a stellar performance and as Randy said it allowed people to see that she has the ability to sing modern songs.

It was then time to visit Angie's hometown of Boston. She went to visit her elementary school as well as family and friends. She also took part in a parade and put on a concert for the town.

The judges picked Try by Pink as Angie's second song. She sounded good as ever with a great sound from the band backing her up. She looked very comfortable singing the song and it was great seeing her in this element without her piano.

Kree went back to her hometown in Texas where she was greeted by her family. She and her sister took a trip back to their childhood home where she shared some memories of her parents. She rounded out her trip at a rodeo and the hometown concert.

Here Comes Goodbye by Rascal Flatts was the song choice of the judges. I think that Kree is the most improved contestant this season. It was a lovely performance and she is definitely fighting until the very end. The judges liked the performance as well and Nicki said it was her best performance to date. I would have to agree.

Round Three kicked off with Angie with a song choice by the production team. They chose Maybe by Emily Sander. She was back on her piano and once again she sounded great. I think that Angie has the ability to sing anything and it would sound fantastic. Randy said that she has become a complete performer.

For Kree, the production chose the country hit Better Dig Too. It was good performance but not the best of the night. It was a lot of fun and it was good to see her singing a faster pace song, but it was a bit out of her comfort zone.

Candice closed the show with an emotional performance of Somewhere from West Side Story. It was an absolutely beautiful performance and it was an excellent way to close the show. She left the audience and the judges stunned and received a standing ovation. It is safe to say that we will be seeing her in the finale next week.

Tune in tonight to see who will be the two remaining contestants to make it to the finale.
