Ian tries to keep his nose clean and to walk the straight and narrow but his body is a very smooth talker.

IAN AND HIS BODY, written and directed by Michael Ricotta, plays as part of MITF: Summer 2017, which runs July 15 - Aug 6, 2017 at WorkShop Theater, 312 W.36th Street, NYC.

Performance Schedule: Wed 7/19, 8:30pm; Fri 7/21, 6:00pm; Sun 7/23, 3:30pm. For tickets and more information, visit www.midtownfestival.org.

Ian has a unique relationship with his Body. His Body is his own person; his permanent companion through life. Ian is trying to overcome cocaine addiction, but his body is at first his greatest tempter and advocate of cocaine but soon becomes a fierce opponent, when he gets preachy about the foreseeable consequences. Straddled with this secret war, Ian attempts to go on a blind date.

Michael Ricotta studied theater and film at S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo, and fairly recently went back to college to get his M.A. in Philosophy at the C.U.N.Y. Grad Center. He has three short one acts picked up at the LIC ONE-ACT FESTIVAL at the end of June prior to this one at MITF. He has been doing readings at the Barrow Group Theater (Fridays@TBA series) for a several years.

The Midtown International Theatre Festival returns for another summer of quality stage works. New York's oldest continuing theater festival will present 100 plays in 23 days.

One of the leading reasons to visit New York in the summer is the theater - from Shakespeare in the Park to the best of Broadway. New York is also known for its amazing theater festivals. This year, the venerable Midtown International Theatre Festival takes its place as the oldest continuing summer arts festival in New York. To usher in this honor, producer John Chatterton presents nearly 100 new and fascinating live stage works - plays, musicals, variety acts, short plays, solo projects, and so much more.
