Hudson Theatre Works to Present Neil LaBute's BASH, 5/13-30

Frank Licato will direct Neil LaBute's BASH, running May 13 thru May 30, 2015 at Weehawken Water Tower, located at 4100 Park Avenue, Weehawken, NJ.

Neil LaBute's Bash is a collection of three darkly brilliant one-act plays. In Medea Redux, a woman tells of her complex and ultimately tragic relationship with her junior high-school English teacher. In Iphigenia in Orem, a Utah businessman confides in a stranger in a Las Vegas hotel room, confessing to an especially chilling crime. In a Gaggle of Saints, a young couple separately recount the violent events of an anniversary weekend in New York City. All three are unblinking portraits of the evils that are abroad in everyday life; each is distinguished by the raw and yet lyrical intensity that has become Neil Labute's signature.

Neil Labute (Playwright) needs no introduction. LaBute is a critically acclaimed playwright, filmmaker, and fiction writer. His controversial works include the plays Reason to be Pretty, The Money Shot, The Mercy Seat, Fat Pig, Autobahn and This Is How It Goes; the films In The Company Of Men, Your Friends And Neighbors, Nurse Betty, and Possession; the play and film adaptation of The Shape Of Things; and the short-story collection Seconds Of Pleasure.

Frank Licato (Director) is Artistic Director of Hudson Theatre Works where he recently directed Of Mice and Men, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and 3 Men, which will be seen in the United Solo Festival this fall. He has worked with such theatre luminaries as Joseph Chaiken, Peter Brook and Robert Brustein. As a director he received an Applause Award from the New Jersey Theatre Alliance and a Perry Award for Best Director for The Grapes of Wrath at the Chatham Playhouse. He was named Best Director by the Off-Broadway revue for his production of Sam Shepard's Seduced. His production of Neil LaBute's The Shape of Things was selected as a regional finalist in the Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival. His production of Robert Clem's Fever was voted a top 10 show at the 2001 New York International Fringe Festival and his production of On the Waterfront was made into the award winning documentary, Waiting for Budd. He is a member of the Actors Studio Playwright and Director Unit.

KEVIN CRISTALDI in Iphigenia in Orem (Man) Kevin's television credits include Criminal Minds, Gilmore Girls, Numbers, Medium, The Unit, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. His theater credits are: Impasto (Nylon Fusion Theater), When I Come to Die (Kansas City Rep), Next Fall (Florida Studio Theatre), The Dirty Talk (Center Stage, NYC), Eddie Legs (Lillian Theatre, L.A. Weekly Theater Award nomination), Last of the Red Hot Lovers (Schoolhouse Theatre, NY), The Strip (Evidence Room, L.A., company member), The Last Station (Vermont Stage), Importance of Being Earnest (Two Rivers Theater, NJ), The Miser (Hartford Stage), and the title role in Hamlet (Arden Theatre, Philadelphia). He has appeared off-Broadway in A Dish for the Gods (The Lion Theater), Message to Michael (Rattlestick Theater), and has worked with the Labyrinth Theater Co., terraNova Collective, and Vampire Cowboys. Kevin lives in Weehawken, NJ.

DAN HILT in A GAGGLE OF SAINTS (John) most recently appeared in the Oscar nominated movie Foxcatcher. Other film and TV credit include: American Gangster, Law and Order, The Sopranos, What Would You Do. His theatrical credits include work with: Actors Shakespeare Company, The Playwrights Theater of NJ and the Summit Playhouse. Dan lives in Jersey City, NJ.

TARA CIOLETTI in A GAGGLE OF SAINTS (Sue) Tara's theatre roles include Stop Kiss, Inspecting: Romeo and Juliet , Antony and Cleopatra: Infinite Lives (NYC Fringe Festival Debut), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (2012 Perry Award - Best Lead Actress), Our House, Beyond Therapy, Prelude to a Kiss. Rabbit Hole ; films include Abel and Cain, Time Signature and Meme.

KRISTEN LAZZARINI in MEDIA REDUX (Woman) Most recently was in the Raucous production of The Tempest as Stephano and Sebastian in Astoria. Past credits include: The title role in Marisol, The Crucible (Elizabeth Procter), Dead Man's Cell Phone (Hermia), The Balcony (Carmen) and Five Flights (Jane) amongst others. She is a graduate of the Rutgers Theater Program.

Scenic and lighting design is by resident designer John Shimrock. Sound and music design is by resident musician Donald Stark, costumes by resident designer Ann Lowe, stage manager Dawn D'Arrigo, produced by Karen Brady and Gregory Erbach, founding members of HTW.
