Hudston Stage Company presents KUNSTLER, a staged reading of the work by Jeffrey Sweet and featuring Jeff McCarthy at the Croton Free Library, located at 171 Cleveland Drive, Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., tonight, June 8th at 7:30 P.M.

Free to the general public. No reservations necessary. Q&A following with the participating artists.

Toward the end of a long and controversial career, the noted radical activist lawyer William Kunstler faces an audience of law students, including one determined to confront him.

Jeff McCarthy (William Kunstler) returns to Hudson Stage. An actor with vast experience, his Broadway credits include Chicago as Billy Flynn, The Pirate Queen, Urinetown as Lockstock, Side Show, The Beast in Beauty and the Beast , Smile, Zorba. Off-Broadway appearances in Southern Comfort at Cap 21, Sympathetic Magic at 2nd Stage, Dream True at the Vineyard Theater and countless regional credits in LA etc. TV includes "The Good Wife", "Schweitzer" (title role), "Love Monkey," "Star Trek: TNG" and "Voyager," "Ed," "Law & Order(s)," "Cheers," "Designing Women," "L.A. Law," "In the Heat of the Night." Film: Starting Out in the Evening, Consent, RoboCop 2, Eve of Destruction, Rapid Fire, Cliffhanger. Jeff is the voice of the the great Chuck Jones' creation, Michigan J. Frog.

Jeffrey Sweet (playwright) has written or co-written about two dozen plays and musicals that have been performed on leading stages in New York, around the country and internationally. Among these include THE ACTION AGAINST SOL SCHUMANN (a NY Times critic's choice), THE VALUE OF NAMES (an LA Times critic's choice), AMERICAN ENTERPRISE (cited as a "Best Play" and awarded a playwriting prize by the American Theatre Critics Association), WHAT ABOUT LUV? (Outer Critics Circle award for book of musical) and FLYOVERS (Chicago's Jefferson award for best script).
