Hudson River Park to Pair Blues & BBQ for 18th Annual Festival

On Saturday, August 19th, BBQ and Blues lovers from throughout the five boroughs will follow the soulful sounds coming from Hudson River Park's 18th Annual Blues BBQ Festival.

Slated to be one of NYC's most highly-anticipated events, the Blues BBQ Festival is assured to get New Yorker's hearts and stomachs full of the city's best BBQ food and passionate performances. Additionally, the Park is proud to host the first-ever vegan option as Monk's Meats joins the group of BBQ powerhouses!

Residents and tourists of all ages looking to jam with some of the nation's most popular Rhythm & Blues bands while indulging in New York City's finest BBQ Food - including a brand-new vegan option!

Attendees at this free event will have exclusive access to NYC's premier BBQ restaurants that New Yorkers typically wait hours for. Participating restaurants include Dinosaur BBQ, Mighty Quinn's BBQ, and Pig Beach. For the first time since its inception, the Blues BBQ Festival will include a vegan option as Monks Eats joins the crew! Have more of a sweet tooth? Cool off with an ice cream sandwich courtesy of Melt Bakery.

Enjoy the smooth sounds of Sugar Ray and the Blue Tones, watch legendary guitarist Eric Gales slap the six strings, dive into the soul of Terrie Odabi, join the brotherhood of The Campbell Brothers and feel the funk of Dumpstaphunk against the beautiful backdrop of the Hudson River.

With free cultural and educational events happening all summer long, the Blues BBQ Festival is a celebration of all Hudson River Park has to offer.

Hudson River Park, which extends from Chambers Street to 59th Street along Manhattan's west side, is the longest waterfront park in the United States. This free, urban recreational oasis is home to award-winning skate parks, playgrounds, sports fields, gardens and nature exhibits, boating and maritime activities, art installations, and myriad year-round events that celebrate the diverse cultures and neighborhoods along its shores. The Park plays a critical role in protecting the Hudson River ecosystem, and though it receives no public operating funds from state and local government, its development has transformed four miles of decaying piers and parking lots into a premier New York City destination for local residents and visitors alike. The non-profit, Friends of Hudson River Park helps to ensure the Park's ongoing sustainability by serving as its primary source of fundraising, advocacy and support, working in concert with the Hudson River Park Trust, the city-state entity that oversees its design, construction, operation and maintenance.
