Legendary jazz musician Houston Person and his quartet return to The Schoolhouse Theater to present their 25th Annual Jazz Concert on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at 7:30pm.

A world-renowned jazz tenor saxophonist, songwriter, bandleader and record producer, Houston Person has recorded more than 75 albums since the 1960's. A recipient of the prestigious Eubie Blake Jazz Award, Person's style ranges from hard bop to swing, but it is jazz for which he is most widely known. Person has played with some of the greatest performers in the world, including Johnny Hammond, Etta Jones, Lena Horne, Lou Rawls, Horace Silver, Dakota Staton and many others through the years. This is a rare chance to spend an evening with one of the jazz world's best, right here in Croton Falls.

Schoolhouse Theater founder, Lee Pope, says "Houston Person rocks! Since his first Schoolhouse concert in 1987, Houston Person has filled every seat. Why? Because his music casts a spell -- smooth and delicious. From the wonderful old days when singer Etta Jones complimented his music so beautifully, to his ever-cool yet commanding renditions of old favorites, he has always captured our hearts. Houston and his quartet have given us an exquisite experience of Jazz for 25 years and, in short, that is something remarkable for us to treasure."

The Schoolhouse is a unique space for live musical performances where every seat feels like a front-row-seat. The Schoolhouse is also a unique place for the arts in Westchester. Built in 1926, the brick building served as an active school until 1976. Galleries exhibit many fine local artists, while theatergoers enjoy the intimate quality of the space, as well as the all-Equity casts who bring theatrical excellence and experience from Broadway to Croton Falls.

The Schoolhouse is a regional Equity theater, dedicated to presenting professional theatrical performances by award-winning playwrights and to support and promote other art forms.

Concert tickets are $30 and can be reserved by calling the box office at 914-277-8477. The Schoolhouse is located at 3 Owens Road, Croton Falls, NY, just off exit 8 on I-684. Visit the Schoolhouse on the web at www.schoolhousetheater.org.
