The national tour of Dreamgirls premieres at Harlem's legendary Apollo Theater (253 West 125 Street), previews began Saturday, November 7, 2009, and opened Sunday, November 22, 2009, for 5 weeks only, through December, 12, 2009. Dreamgirls will be a highlight of the Apollo Theater's 75th Anniversary celebration in 2009. FELA! Producer Jay-Z to Attend Opening Night Tonight; Smiths Back Out

Fela!, the new Broadway musical based on the life and music of African composer and performer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, officially opens tonight, November 23, minus a few high profile celebrity producers. It was planned for Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Jay-Z to all be in attendance for Fela!'s opening night, but due Smith's oldest son acquiring a sports related injury, the Smiths are no longer able to attend. Amazon.com, Inc. has declared Susan Boyle's upcoming album, "I Dreamed a Dream," has become the largest global CD pre-order in the history of Amazon. The album will be released from Sony Music Entertainment on Nov. 23. BURN THE FLOOR Gets Final Extension Thru 2/14; Features Guest Stars Mary Murphy, Edyta Sliwinska & Alec Mazo

The producers of Broadway's dance sensation, BURN THE FLOOR, announced today that three new guest stars will join the company for the show's final extension on Broadway prior to an Australian, Asian and U.S. tour. On January 12, Mary Murphy of "So You Think You Can Dance," and Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo of "Dancing with the Stars" will become part of BURN THE FLOOR's electrifying cast. The Broadway engagement will close on February 14, 2010. The show opens in Melbourne Australia the following week. Cities and dates for the U.S. tour will be announced shortly. (more...)
