Immediately following the February celebrations of the Dominican Republican's strides for freedom and liberty, Repertorio Español introduces its new production En el Nombre de Salomé (In the name of Salomé) to the Bronx, after a successful debut in Manhattan. Based on a novel by Julia Alvarez, written by Marco Antonio Rodríguez and directed by José Zayas this new play tells the story of Dominican poet and political advocate Salomé Ureña.

The performance will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 7pm in the Repertory Theater of Hostos Community College, located at 450 Grand Concourse in the Bronx. Reserved seating is $15 and $5 for students and ages 18 and under.

Tickets can be purchased at 718-518-4455 or www.hostoscenter.org.
Through the use of Salomé's poetry, the audience will not only experience that patriotic national figure she has been established as but also the woman and mother she was and is also apparent through her poetry. The story of Salome Ureña is also the story of her daughter, Camila, who under her mother's iconic shadow must find her own voice and forge her own path.

In the name of Salomé will take the audience through the life of not only the national symbol Salomé Ureña but also through moments in her life that made and continue to make her relevant in Latin American literature.
