Even with the polar vortex outside, the Hole in the Wall Theater is focusing on a different storm: the emotional hurricane of Mart Crowley's classic drama "The Boys in the Band." Crowley's landmark drama, which follows a group of gay friends in the late 1960s as a birthday party turns vicious.

This sharp and clever drama will run from January 16th through February 1st, with 8:00 PM performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 2:00PM Sunday matinees for the first two weeks of the run, and Friday and Saturday evening performances for the closing weekend. Tickets are available by calling (860) 229-3049 or visiting The Hole in the Wall Theater website at www.hitw.org.

"The Boys in the Band" follows a group of gay friends at a birthday party. When a married, straight friend unexpectedly appears, the would-be celebration takes a darker turn as the men dissect their lives, relationships, and each other in a fierce verbal free-for-all.

The cast features Joe Autuoro of Newington as Michael, Jake Williams of East Hampton as Donald, Matthew Pechous of Stratford as Emory, Keith Giard of South Windsor as Hank, Michael Reilly of Torrington as Larry, Rodney K. of Canton as Alan, Joshua Thompson of Berlin as Bernard, Matthew Skwiot of New Britain as Harold, the birthday boy, and Tom Bryda of Bristol as Cowboy, his present.
