Hoff Barthelson Music School's BAROQUE AND BEYOND To Begin 3/11

Baroque and Beyond, Hoff-Barthelson Music School's week-long Festival celebrating music composed between 1600 and 1750, will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017, through Saturday, March 18, 2017.

Performances at Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation:

On Saturday, March 11, and Sunday, March 12, 2017, at 7:00 pm, the Festival Orchestra will perform Anton Webern's transcription of the Ricercata from Bach's Musical Offering under the direction of Jun Nakabayashi, Music Director, at the Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 468 Rosedale Avenue, White Plains. The Beginner and Junior Voices, Flute Clubs and Wind Ensemble will also perform on the March 11th concert. The Suzuki Strings, Viola Club, Young Peoples Symphonette and Chamber Orchestra will share the March 12th concert with the Festival Orchestra. Admission is a suggested donation of $18. Students may attend for free.

Performances at Hoff-Barthelson Music School:

Student soloists and ensembles can be heard on recitals held at the Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale, on Saturday, March 11, at 2:00 and 4:00 pm; Thursday, March 16, at 6:15 and 8:00 pm; Friday, March 17, at 6:15 and 8:00 pm; and Saturday, March 18, at 2:00, 4:00, 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. The 6:00 pm recital on Saturday features the Chamber Choir in a performance of Francesca Caccini's La liberazione di Ruggiero dall' isola d'Alcina. These recitals are free of charge and open to the public.

Special All-Bach Performance at Hoff-Barthelson Music School - HB Cello Virtuosi:

HBMS is proud to present the HB Cello Virtuosi, comprised of six members of the School's gifted cello faculty, in an All-Bach recital on Wednesday, March 15 at 7:00 pm in the School's auditorium. Michael Finckel, Adam Grabois, Nicole Johnson, Erich Schoen-René, Robert Schwartz and Peter Seidenberg will perform cello suites, gamba sonatas and transcriptions of well-known and beloved works by J.S. Bach. The cellists will be joined by Faculty members and pianists Katsura Tanikawa and Sayaka Tanikawa. An event not to be missed! Admission is free of charge.
